Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius

Add white flour

Add whole meal flour

Weigh

Sift in a bit more white flour

It should look something like this after mixed

Sift in bicarbonate soda

Add butter

Mix with hands

Add buttermilk

Mix with a spoon or similar

Add the remaining flour

Mix with hands

Take out of bowl to admire your amazing handiwork

Place on a tray ( coat tray in butter and flour to prevent sticking )

Coat in milk and add a marking if wanted ( a cross symbol is traditional )

Stick in the oven

Relax for about 50 minutes
